Microsoft has officially announced the next iteration of MSN, set enter beta testing next week. In a departure from expectations, Microsoft will not label the release version 9.0. Instead, MSN will now come in two flavors: Premium and Plus. The new MSN branding represents a shift in focus toward broadband customers and efforts by Redmond to differentiate its service from rival AOL.
Microsoft is planning a security upgrade to its .NET Messenger service that could have far reaching consequences for IM clients not sanctioned by Redmond. Starting October 15, users of older MSN clients must upgrade or they will be unable to connect to the service, says Microsoft. Third-party clients, which Microsoft labels "unauthorized," will also be adversely affected by the change.

어제 토요일부터 하나로를 시작으로 국내 ISP 업체들이 ICMP 를 막고 있습니다.
이유는 ICMP 를 이용한 윌시아 웜바이러스 때문입니다.
ICMP 패킷을 무작위로 보내서 MS 패치가 안된 컴퓨터에 자동 침투되도록 만든것이 윌시아 웜바이러스입니다.
그로인해 정보통신부는 국내 ISP 업체에 요청을해서 ICMP 를 막아달라고 했습니다.
현재 하나로 전지역에 PING 테스트나 TRACERT 의 기능이 안되구요.
ICMP 를 이용한 서버 원격관리 프로그램 역시 안되고 있습니다.
