Rink Springer would like to see his Xbox port migrated into FreeBSD-current. He is looking to import his FreeBSD/Xbox within the FreeBSD/i386 port, bringing support into FreeBSD-CURRENT. He is proposing a prioritized plan in order to accomplish this goal and is looking for your comments and feedback.

FreeBSD 7-CURRENT 에서 xbox를 지원할지도 모르겠군요.
커널 컴파일시 옵션 하나로 이 모든게 가능하게 하고자 하는것 같습니다.

맨드리바 2006 오피셜 버전이 나왔습니다.
회사 합병 후에 공식적으로 처음 나온 배포판입니다.
현재는 무료 다운로드 판은 iso이미지가 아직은 제공되지 않고 있습니다. 몇주 뒤면 올라올 것입니다.

저는 그냥 boot.iso(약 12메가)를 다운 받아서 시디로 구워서 그냥 네트워크로 설치 중입니다. 설치화면이 더욱 이뻐졌군요.

맨드리바의 가장 큰 장점은 쉬운 설치와 수세와 같은 통합된 제어판이 있습니다. 제어판이 흡사 윈도우와 비슷해서 설정이 쉽습니다.

mysql 5.0.x 버젼이 드디어 rc 딱지를 떼버렸습니다.

4.1 버젼대와 비교해서 스토어드 프로시져, 트리거, 아카이브 저장엔진, 서버사이드 커서, information schema 등과 새로운 관리프로그램이 추가되었네요...

rc버젼에선 트리거에서 stored procedure 를 사용할 수 없는 등 제한이 있었는데 나아졌는지 궁금하군요 :)

오늘 한국 ZDnet에 들어가서 보면서 신비로운 제목의 한컷이 눈에 들어오길래 바로 클릭했었죠.
모바일 PDA의 강자인 팜과 MS가 협력의 관계을 가졌고, 비밀리에 새로운 모델을 만들어서 발표했었던 내용입니다.

Gecko 엔진의 또다른 웹브라우저, Flock 이 공개됐습니다.

오페라 9와 동시에 Flock 이라는 다소 생소한 브라우저가 공개됐습니다.

게코엔진이라 파폭과 비슷한 느낌이 들긴 하지만, 상당히 진보된 브라우저를 지향하는 듯 합니다. 북마크는 del.icio.us 와 곧바로 연동되고, 블로그는 자체 에디터 방식으로 Blogger.com 에 직접 등록이 가능합니다. Flickr 에서의 그림 삽입도 드래그앤 드롭으로 간단히 이루어집니다.

아쉬운 점은 익스플러로의 북마크 전환이 이루어지지 않습니다. 저만 그런건지, 버그인건지 확실치 않습니다.

VMWare released today the VMWare Player, a freely downloadable tool that 'plays' virtual machines (it just doesn't let you create any). This can prove a very important tool for OS makers who would like to demo their OS to new users, users who don't want to burn live CDs and also keep the OS makers safe from any hardware incompatibilities in the user's machine (as the OS would run inside VMWare Player, the compatibility is always guaranteed). VMWare already posted a demo for their VMWare Player, a 200 MB 'Browser Appliance' based on Ubuntu.
