smbmount시 윈도우 서버의 화일 사이즈 문제

운영환경은 아래와 같습니다.

share server win2k server
share client debian linux, samba 3.0.1

smbmount command를 이용해서 윈도우의 공유 화일을 linux 서버로 옮기고 있습니다.

1. 그런데.. 윈도우쪽의 공유화일이 단일 화일 사이즈가 2기가 이상일 경우, smbmount 후 이상하게 표시가 됩니다. 화일 사이즈가 엄청나게 표시가 됐다가, 또는 아주 작게 표시되기도 합니다. 실제 cp를 했을때, 실제 9기가 화일이 리눅스 서버에는 700메가로 옮겨지고 cp가 끝나버리네요. 에러메세지는 없습니다. 이 문제에 대한 해결 방법이 있을까요?

2. smbmount 또는 smbclient로 windows share에 접속할 경우 login id, password가 encryption이 되어서 전송이 되나요?

얼마전에도 비슷한 이유의 질문이 올라왔었는데...
찾아보니 커널 문제일 수도 있다는군요.
Kernel 2.4.18이전버젼은 파일의 크기를 2G까지 지원했던것 같습니다.

여기서도 나오지만 Kernel을 2.5나 현재 나와있는 2.6.x로 바꾸는 것으로 사이즈에 대한
문제는 해결이 가능할 걸로 보입니다.

두번째 질문의 경우는 소스를 못봐서 답변드리기가 힘드네요. :)
