Z3A2라는 새로운 인코딩 형식을 만들었습니다.base64 처럼 텍스트 또는 바이너리를 보이는 ASCII 문자코드로 인코딩해줍니다.base64와 다른 점은 숫자와 기호없이 모두 알파벳 대소문자 52개문자만 사용한다는 점입니다. 입력데이타를 1Byte 또는 2Byte로 쪼개서 2개 또는 3개의 알파벳으로 만드는 원리지요.
이런 인코딩이 적합한 분야가 있을까요 ? . ^^&

한글과 영문이 섞인
한글과 영문이 섞인 텍스트에 대하여 Z3A2를 base64와 비교하여 테스트 해 보았습니다. 길이의 경우 인코딩된 Z3A2는 3222byte , base64는 2864byte 로 약간 떨어지며 압축할경우 Z3A2는 42.831 % , base64는 38.652 % 로 보다 우수했습니다. 단순히 길이와 압축율로만 따진다면 그다지 우수하다고 할 수는 없을 것 같습니다. 그러나 Z3A2에 특별한 점은 숫자와 기호를 사용하지 않고 알파벳만을 사용하기에 여러가지로 확장된 형식이 가능하다는 점입니다.
예를 들어 알파벳 이외의 문자인 숫자'0'을 사이에 넣어서 분리자 역할을 하게 할 수 도 있을 것입니다. 그런식 으로 예약어와 각종 태그를 넣어서 기존의 문자열에 특수한 포맷을 적용할 수 있습니다. 약간의 프로그래밍 기능도 넣을 수 있을 것입니다. 반복되는 문구는 상수정의를 하여 크기를 줄일 수도 있을 것입니다. 아직은 구상단계에 있어 여러가지로 모색 중에 있습니다. 또 어떤 활용이 가능 할까요?

단위 크기당 정보량이 작으니까 퍼센트로 따지면 압축률이 높을 수밖에 없죠.
같은 데이터를 가지고 인코딩한 3222바이트 데이터를 압축해서 1842바이트가 된 게 2864바이트 인코딩 데이터를 압축해서 1757바이트가 된 것보다 압축률이 우수하다고 말하는 게 올바른 비교같지는 않군요.
원본에 대한 크기비
그게 맞겠군요. 압축율 보다는 압축결과와 원본에 대한 크기를 비교해야 되겠군요.
비교해 보니 다음과 같군요.
크기비가 85.754 % , 81.797 % 로 둘 다 원본 보다는 크기가 줄었고 Z3A2 가 BASE64 보다 크기가 커지는 군요.

Z3A2는 입력되는 2Byte를 코드값에 따라 2Byte코드 또는 3byte코드를 생성하게 됩니다. 따라서
3byte코드 보다 2Byte코드로 되는 경우가 많다면 크기를 크게 줄일 수 있습니다.
텍스트 문자열의 경우 가장 많이 차지하는 공백(32)문자가 있는 경우를 2Byte코드로 할당하게 되면 기존의 경우보다 코드의 크기가 줄어들게 됩니다. 소스코드를 바꾼후 테스트한 결과 다음과 같았습니다.
다음은 공백이 많은 문자열을 테스트입니다.
BASE64 보다 더 작은 크기로 인코딩되었습니다.
