[완료] 듀얼 모니터 사용시 불편 사항들

우분투에서 듀얼 모니터 사용시 저도 아래와 같은 문제가 있었습니다.

nvidia-settings로 쉽게 사용이 가능함에도 불구하고

1. 독립된 모니터가 아니다(트윈뷰시 최대화시 전화면을 꽉채웁니다)
2. 혹은 독립시켜놨을 경우 두 모니터간 쉐어가 되지 않는다.(모니터별 독립적인 X사용시)

누군가 저와 같은 생각을 가지고 있지만 해결이 안되었군요

혹, 리눅스에도 듀얼모니터를 윈도우와 같은 인터페이스로 지원하는 프로젝트나 해결 방법이 있나요?

두 모니터의 색감이 다른 문제도 있습니다. 눈이 민감하다면 이 둘의 차이때문에 좀 혼란스럽죠.

그래도 리눅스는 윈도매니저가 어떻게 핸들링하느냐에 따라 달라지니,
윈도매니저 이것저것 깔아서 써보시는게 좋을 듯 합니다.

링크거신 질문 내용에 대한 답을 드리자면
트윈뷰 설정 지운뒤에 xorg.conf의 Device 섹션을 두개 만들면 됩니다. (이 둘을 연동시키기 위한 설정 조정도 필요함)
자세한 방법은 nvidia 드라이버에 딸려오는 문서에 나와 있습니다.

전 nvidia 8800GT 에서 듀얼모니터 잘 되는데요.
nvidia 설정 프로그램으로 설정했습니다.
그놈 패널이 한쪽에만 나오고, 창을 최대화했을 때도 한쪽 모니터에서만
최대가 됩니다. 창도 모니터 양쪽으로 옮길 수 있고요.

nvidia-settings 프로그램으로 설정했는데요,
설정할 당시에는 원하는 대로 나오지 않았는데
설정을 저장하고 X를 다시 띄우니까 잘 되었습니다.

Xinerama로 검색해보시면 몇 가지 나올 것 같네요.

저도 우분투에서 듀얼모니터로 Xinerama를 쓰다가 지금은 그냥 독립된 모니터로 쓰고 있습니다.
Xinerama를 사용하면 말씀하신 최대화때 한 모니터로 최대화 되면서도 모니터간 창을 이동할 수 있는 것은 좋은데
일단 compiz가 돌아가지 않구요.

그리고 집에서만 컴퓨터를 하는게 아니다보니 집에서 쓰던 듀얼모니터에 익숙해지면 다른 데 가서 고생합니다..
그래서 독립된 모니터로 쓰고 메인은 리눅스, 나머지 한개는 VirtualBox로 윈도우를 풀스크린으로 돌립니다.
마우스 키보드 공유가 되니까 두대 놓고 쓰는것보다 좋더군요.
