APP 서버를 통해 접속하였을때 DB Connection error이 자주 뜹니다.

근래에 MySQL 쪽 문제라 판단되어 DB에서 Kye_buffer_size 및 max_connctions 등의 여러 값을 증가시켜 보았으나, 서버내 메모리가 너무 많이 사용되고 있어 발생하는 문제는 아닌지요?

일단 말씀드리자면, 알려주신 정보로는 메모리는 지극히 정상입니다.
MySQL connection 의 문제는 지금 알려주신 자료에서 생기는게 아닙니다. 추가는 곧하죠.

그럼 어디서 생기는 문제일까요?

Mysql_status 를 실행하여 Variables 값을 조회하여 본 결과

connect_timeout 의 값이 잘못된(fail) 접속 요청이 많고
key_buffer_size 의 값을 보면 DISK에서 Key를 읽는 요청이 많습니다.

max_connections 의 값은 최대 접속수에 근접하거나 초과했다고 나옵니다.

하지만 이 값에 대해 수정을 계속하여도, 추가를 해야한다는 결과만 나오고
결국에는 또다시 DB connection error가 발생하게 됩니다.

MySQLd 본 서버는 3.8% 밖에 메모리를 안 먹고 있고 (1기가에서 4% 라고 해봐야 40MB. 이 정도면 아담합니다) CPU는 완전히 놀고 있습니다.

top - 13:40:26 up 48 min, 2 users, load average: 57.31, 66.71, 60.97 <- 문제는 이 부분.
문제는 이 로드인데, 이런 저부하 상태에서 로드가 많이 걸리네요.

dmesg나 /var/log/messages 의 최근 몇줄로 상태를 봐야겠지만, 지금 말씀하신 부분중에는 이 부분에서 문제를 더 추적해봐야 할것같습니다.

mysql에서 io wait을 많이 발생시키고 있는게 아닐까 추측됩니다.

이건 대부분 mysql이 디스크에 임시 테이블을 생성하는 경우에 생기는데, mysqladmin 명령으로 processlist를 확인해 보시거나
mysql 콘솔 클라이언트 에서 show processlist 해보셨을때

time이 무쟈게 긴 쿼리가 있나 확인해 보시면 됩니다.

아직 섵부른 판단이기 때문에 이게 원인이라고 확신할 수는 없습니다.
다만 제일 많이 나타나는 증상이라서요.

쿼리 수정은 가장 마지막에 그리고 장기적으로 보고 하시는게 맞을듯 하고요.
그리고 아마 전문가가 필요할 듯 합니다.

그리고 평소에는 발생하지 않던 문제가 특정한 변동이 생기면서 발생할 수도 있습니다.
요청이 순식간에 많이 들어온다던지.. 검색 로봇이나 검색 결과 탑랭크와 같은 것들을 통해서요.

혹시 가능할지 모르는 임시 조치가 하나 있는데
mysql에서 만드는 임시테이블을 디스크가 아닌 메모리에서 만들게 하는 방법입니다.
물론 메모리 한계에 부딪히면 결과는 마찬가지가 되고요.

이와 관련된 전역 변수가

max_tmp_tables
tmp_table_size
max_heap_table_size

정도가 현재 기억이 납니다.

이중에 우선 tmp_table_size, max_heap_table_size 두개 정도를 기존보다 좀 여유 있는 값으로 늘려보시면서 쿼리 응답이 많이 빨라지면 성공한 겁니다.
매번 같은 쿼리로 테스트 하시려면 쿼리 캐시를 끄고 하셔야 합니다.

그리고 실제 운영중인 저 서버에서 하지 마시고 아무것도 돌고있지 않는 빈 서버에서 하시기 바랍니다.
자기 PC에 설치해서 하시는게 제일 편할듯 합니다.

물론 운영 데이터 덤프떠서 옮겨놓고 하셔야 겠죠..

특정 쿼리가 원인이 되어서 다른것들이 지연이 생기는 경우도 상당히 많습니다.

디스크에서 읽는 I/O 가 2-3메가 정도 밖에 안되는데 70가까이 I/O wait 가 걸리는걸로 봐서는 디스크가 많이 느려 보입니다.

예전에도 계속 그랬는지 아님 최근에 와서 그랬는지 올려주신 로그만으로는 알수는 없지만..

그리고 또 현재 올려주신 부팅 메세지를 봐서는 디스크가 DMA 모드로 잡힌게 아니고 PIO 모드로 잡혀 있습니다.

이 상태에서는 디스크 성능을 모두 낼수가 없을 것으로 판단됩니다.

DMA 로 안잡히고 PIO 로 잡힌 이유는 여러가지가 있지만. (HDD 케이블, 메인보드 설정등등) 디스크를 DMA로 잡아서 확인 하는게

좋을듯 합니다. 디스크를 DMA 모드로 변경하는게 안된다고 한다면 디스크를 빠른 녀석으로 변경해 보심이 어떨까 합니다.
