reiserfs에서 쿼터를 쓰려면 패치를 해줘야하나요?

reiserfs에서 쿼터를 쓰려면 패치를 해줘야하나요? 문서에 그리 써 있던데, 커널 2.6을 쓰는 경우에도 패치가 필요한가요?

Reiserfs home 인 namesys.com 의 메인 페이지에 보면

We must caution that just as Linux 2.6 is not yet as stable as Linux 2.4, it will also be some substantial time before V4 is as stable as V3.

라는 구문이 있습니다. 커널 2.6 에서의 V3 버전은 안정화 되지 않았다라고 되어 있죠. :-) 그리고 커널 2.6 에서 SMP 기능이 향상이 되면서 ext3 의 성능도 상당히 좋아졌습니다. 굳이 커널 2.6 에서 reiserfs 를 사용해야 할 이유를 못찾겠더군요.

저의 경우 커널 2.4 에서 reiserfs 사용하던 서버들을 2.6 으로 migration 하면서 file system 을 모두 ext3 로 변경했습니다만 (RHEL 에서 reiserfs 가 빠지는 바람에..) 동일한 서버에서 2.6 의 ext3 가 2.4 의 reiserfs 보다 훨씬 좋은 성능을 보여주고 있어서 그냥 만족하고 사용하고 있습니다.
