wireless 설정 관련 질문입니다.

/etc/sysconfig/hwconf 에서 wireless 관련 하드웨어 정보가 없으면
OS에서 아예 하드웨어를 인식을 못한 건가요?
만약 인식을 못했다면 어떻게 해야 하죠^^;
대략 난감입니다.ㅡㅡ;
아...kernel 은 Linux 2.6.20-1.2962.fc6 #1 SMP Tue Jun 19 18:24:12 EDT 2007 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
Fedora core 6 입니다.
우분투에서는 아무 문제 없이 사용 했는데.... 페도라에선 문제군요...

OS를 centOS 로 다시 설치 할려고 합니다.
처음에 ieee80211이 필요 하다해서 첨엔 컴파일로 설치 하려고 했는데 오류가 발생을 해서 rpm으로 설치를 하고 ipw3945 도 rpm으로 설치를 했지만 modprobe 에서 모듈을 추가 할려고 unvalid module format으로 나와 버려 추가를 할 수가 없더군요ㅡㅡ;
그래서 결론은 다른 OS로 다시 설치 입니다.ㅎ

저도 모듈이 추가가 안되서 포기했는데 fc7을 깔으니깐 알아서 잡혀져있더라구요. ㅎ

CentOS 5로 다시 깔고
설치를 시도 했습니다.
처음에는 컴파일을 시도 했지만 역시 되지 않더군요....ㅡㅡ;
그래서 여러 문서를 찾아 보던 중....
아래 와 같은 방법으로 해결 되었습니다.

The driver is in Atrpms repo, so as root you just need to create a file in your /etc/yum.repos.d/ called atrpms.repo and have the following lines in it:

[atrpms]
name=CentOS $releasever - $basearch - ATrpms
baseurl=http://dl.atrpms.net/el$releasever-$basearch/atrpms/stable
gpgkey=http://ATrpms.net/RPM-GPG-KEY.atrpms
gpgcheck=1

To install and load the driver from the repo above type the commands:
# rpm --import http://ATrpms.net/RPM-GPG-KEY.atrpms
# yum install ipw3945
# depmod -a
# modprobe ipw3945
# /sbin/ipw3945d --quiet

근데 지금도 이해가 않되는 부분이 저도 수동으로 똑같은 패키지를 설치 했지만 modprobe 에서 모듈을 추가 하려고 하면 되지 않았는데 yum으로 설치 했다고 추가가 되는게 이해가 되지 않더군요..ㅡㅡ;
