부트로더 작동에 궁금증이 있는데요

예전에 리눅스와 윈도우즈2000을 같이 사용하기 위해 부트로더 설정 때문에 고생한적이 있었는데요
그땐 잘 몰라서 지금에서야 그 과정에 대해서 궁금증이 생겼는데

왜 NT부트로더에서 리눅스로의 부팅을 위해서 따로 bootsect.lnx(Lilo가 부트섹터에 설치된 이미지) 와 같은 파일을 만들어서 해야하죠?
부트섹터에 설치된 부트로더는 그 자체로 실행가능한 절대 이미지이고 Lilo가 리눅스가 설치된 파티션의 부트섹터에 있으니
그대로 MBR에 설치된 NT부트로더가 리눅스가 설치된 파티션의 부트섹터에 있는 Lilo를 메모리로 올린후에 제어를 넘기면 되지 않나요?

초보자라 질문이 조금 이상하게 되버린...;;

NTLDR이 그런 기능을 지원하지 않기 때문이죠. ^^
