debian sarge 에서 x window 해상도 설정에 대해 질문 있습니다.

debian sarge 를 netinst 로 깔았습니다.
(그래픽 카드는 nvidia geforce 400 MX 입니다.)

해상도가 800x600 으로 나오길래
/etc/X11/XF86Config-4 파일의 내용을 살펴봤더니

    Subsection  "Display"
        Depth       24
        Modes       "800x600" "640x480"
    EndSubsection

처럼 800x600 이 최고로 되어 있길래 

    Subsection  "Display"
        Depth       24
        Modes       "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
    EndSubsection

로 수정했습니다.

그러고 나서 ctrl-alt-backspace 로 새로 로그인 했더니,
1024x768 로 설정이 되더군요.
그런데 ctrl+alt++ 을 아무리 눌러도 1280x1024 로는 전환이 되지 않습니다.
어떻게 해야 하나요?

그리고, xf86config 를 실행하니까 쭈욱 물어본 후에 XF86Config 파일을 생성하더군요. 그런데 실제로 이 파일은 안 쓰인 것 아닌가요? XF86Config-4 이것만 쓰이는 것 같은데...
아시는 분 설명 부탁드릴께요.

dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86 에서 잘 설정하셨다면, 모니터쪽의 정보가 정확하지 않아서 일 수 있습니다.
수직-수평 주파수 등등을 잘 확인해서 입력해 보세요.

# apt-get install HOPE
