이해가 안되는 Xconfigurator

아~~ 며칠째 리눅스와 씨름하는지 모르겠습니다..
REDHAT 7.1 한글판을 설치했습니다.
vga는 MGA밀레니엄(PCI) 모니터는 LG 1505라는 모델을 사용합니다.
Xconfigurator설정에서 모든것을 잘잡고.. 정상적으로 테스트까지
했는데 ...

startx를 실행하면 뜨는것처럼 모니터가 깜빡 하더니.. 에러가 나며
뜨질 못하네요..????????

왜 그런지 이해가 안됩니다... 고수님들 도와주세요.....

* 그리고 텍스트에서 Xconfigurator를 실행하면 영문도 아닌것이 한글도 아니
고 폰트가 깨져서 나오네요??? 왜그런가요????
