불략섹터가 있는 하드의 경우엔..

RedHat9를 처음 설치할 때..

서버로 설치하면서 하드에 불량섹터는 없는지 확인하려고 불량섹터 체크를 켜고 깔았더랍니다..

한참을 검사하더니... 불량섹터가 있더라.. 하면서 설치를 중단하더군요..

얼레 불량섹터가 있으면 안 깔리는 건가? ㅡㅅㅡa;;;

그래서 그냥 불량섹터 검사를 끄고 다시 설치했지요..

이거 문제 없을까요... ㅡ_ㅡ

나중에라도 불량섹터를 검사해서 체크하는 방법은 없는 건가요?

불량 섹터가 있으면 아무래도 불안하죠. 왠만하면 다른 하드를 사는게 정신건강에
좋습니다.
일단 불량섹터를 검사하는 프로그램은 e2fsck -c 로 사용가능합니다.
ext2, ext3 파일 시스템에 대해서만 검사를하는거죠. 다른 파일시스템은 잘모르겠네요.
많이 사용하는것이니 일단은 e2fsck -c로 검사를 하시고요...
설치전에 해야하는 badblocks라는 명령어도 있습니다.
주의할점은 -w옵션을 주면 쓰기까지 체크해서 문제가 발생할 수 있으니까 반드시
man badblocks로 메뉴얼을 읽어보시고 적당한 옵션을 주어야한다는 겁니다.

불량섹터는 바이러스같아서 한번 생기기 시작하면 옆 섹터까지 금방 전염이 되어
버립니다.(진짜 전염되는것은 아니고 이해하기 쉽게하기 위해서 그렇게 표현한겁니다.)
따라서 불량섹터가 발생한 하드는 교환을 하시거나 새로운 하드를 이용하는게 좋습니다.
