module-init-tools 설치 문제입니다.

module-init-tools-0.9.14를 소스로 받았습니다.

INSTALL과 README를 참고하여

./configure
make links
make
make install을 거쳐서

/usr/local/sbin/에 설치는 성공을 했습니다.

처음 사용시에는 modules.conf를 modprobe.conf로 변환시키기위해서
./generate-modprobe.conf /etc/modprobe.conf
를 실행시켜야한다고 하더군요. 그래서 실행을 시켰습니다.

그런데 여기서 문제가 발생합니다.

이와 같은 메세지가 뜹니다.

그리고 혹시나해서 재 커널 컴파일을 시도,
make modules_install 을 시도하면

Warning: you may need to install module-init-tools

이 뜨네요...물론 depmod 경고(??) 에러(??) 뜨구요..ㅡㅡ

다른분들은 module-init-tools을 어떻게 설치하셨는지요..또 저와같은
에러메세지는 어떻게 해결할수 있는지요

kernel.org에 보면 modutils-2.4.21-22.src.rpm을 구할수 있지만
현재 modutils이 2.4.22(물론 module-init-tools을 포함안한..)이 있어서
다운그레이드는 망설여지는군요..

제가 직면한 문제에 대한 도움 꼭 좀 부탁드리겠습니다. ^^

혹시 레드햇을 쓰시는지요? 레드햇에서는 조금 다르게 설치해야 한다고 하더군요... 저같은 경우 페도라를 사용중인데 조금 곤란한 상황이 됐습니다. 재설치 해야하는...흑흑...
여튼 참고해보세요.

Modutils / module-init-tools
You need a new modprobe, insmod, rmmod, etc. If you don't, you'll get errors about ``QM_MODULES: Function not implemented.'' Download the latest version of module-init-tools. Read the README. I ran:

./configure --prefix=/
make moveold
make
make install

Now translate your old /etc/modules.conf into /etc/modprobe.conf with the ./generate-modprobe.conf script that comes with module-init-tools:

./generate-modprobe.conf /etc/modprobe.conf
Look at the result, especially at the bottom of the file.

답변 감사드리고요, 한컴 3.1유저입니다.

make links를 줘서, inmod, modprobe, rmmod는 모두 old파일로 링크되었습니다. ㅜ.ㅡ

다른 분들은 어떻게 해결하셨는지요?

한컴이면 한컴 ftp에서 받으세요.
desktop은 modutils에 이미 포함되어 있으니까 desktop에 있는 modutils을 받아서 설치하면 가장 간단합니다.
그 다음에도 산넘어 산이 있지만 컴파일과 부팅은 잘되더군요.
