[질문] 메인보드에서 DMA 33/66 사용불가

기가 바이트의 메인보드 GA-8IGX에서
레드헷 리눅스7.3 (kernel 2.4.18-3)를 사용중입니다.

기존에 웹서비스가 제공되는 상태에서
cp나 rsync의 명령을 내리면 시스템부하가 높아지며 시스템이 중지되는 현상이 일어납니다. (완전히 다운되지는 않고)

hdparm으로 아래와 같이 체크해 보니
hdparm -t /dev/hda

/dev/hda:
Timing buffered disk reads: 64 MB in 14.04 seconds = 4.56 MB/sec

결과가 상당히 느린 듯 하여

hdparm -d 1 /dev/hda로 DMA 기능 on했으나

아래와 같이 장치가 작동을 하지 않습니다.
/dev/hda:
setting using_dma to 1 (on)
HDIO_SET_DMA failed: Operation not permitted
using_dma = 0 (off)

아래는 부팅 시 메세지 입니다.
dmesg | grep DMA
ehci-hcd.c: using segment 0 for 64bit DMA addresses ...

dmesg | grep IDE
Uniform Multi-Platform E-IDE driver Revision: 6.31

어떻게 해야 DMA기능을 사용할 수 있을까요?

한참 지났는데 -_-; 벌써 해결하셨을지도 모르겠지만서도..
저도 갑자기 안되길래 -_-; 조금 삽질해보다가 알았습니다.
여기 검색해보고 답변이 없던게 생각나서 -_-;;;;

메인보드 chipset 모듈이 안올라간 거였더군요.
GA-8IGX에서 사용하는 모듈 찾아서 올려주세요.

전 P4P800 Delux 사용하는데 intel 82어쩌고 칩셋이더군요
없길래
modprobe piix
해주고 hdparm 다시 먹여주니 잘 됩니다.
