커널 버전 변경 후 오류

우분투 20.04를 설치하고
커널버전 변경하려고 하는데요
소스를 받아서
make, make modules, make modules_install, make install 하는 방식으로 변경 하고 재부팅하고 나면
흰색 화면에
Oh no! Something has gone wrong
A problem has occured and the system can't recover
Please log out and try again

이라는 메세지가 뜨는데 왜그러는걸까요,,,

뭔가 로그를 좀 더 열거나 할수 있을듯 한데요... 질문의 범위가 너무 넓습니다..

PC 라면, grub 등의 부트로더에서 커널 파라미터를 조정해서 text 기반으로 부팅하고, 디버깅 로그를 출력하게 할수 있습니다.

위 과정에서 에러 또는 경고 메시지가 있었을 것 같은데요?
