sed로 특수문자(소괄호, 백슬래시 등) 지우는 방법?

독학으로 쉘프로그래밍을 짜고있는 1인입니다.
제가 관측자료를 웹상에서 다운받아서 텍스트 파일로 만들고자 하는데요.
sed 명령어를 통해서 불필요한 정보를 삭제를 했는데,

[08:59](javascript:parent.fnCgiRetrieve\(0\);)| ○| 0| 0| 0| 0| 0| 5.0| 30.4 |
이라는 코드 내용에서

[08:59](\(0\);)| ○| 0| 0| 0| 0| 0| 5.0| 30.4 |
까지는 만들었습니다.

그런데....(\(0\);).....이 부분이 지워지지 않더군요..
몇시간째 방법을 찾아봐도 해결법을 찾지 못하여...
이렇게 질문을 남깁니다...
(\(0\);) 을 삭제 하는 방법이 어떻게 될까요?
불쌍한 소인 좀 도와주시와요^^

저도 방금 처리를 했는데요....
너무 복잡하게 처리를 했어요....^^
역시 두분은 대단하셔요 ㅎㅎㅎ
