X11forwarding 속도 향상 방법???

아래 질문 올렸던 사람입니다. VNC를 시도하였지만 램이작아 (384M)
결국 먹통이되서 vnc는 포기하고 X11forwarding으로 putty와 xming조합으로 접속해서
프로그램만 달랑 달랑 띄우네요. 그런데 이 X11forwading이 ssh를 베이스로 해서 그런지
속도가 너무 느린데 좀더 빠르게 할수 있는 방법 없을까요?

인터넷을 뒤져보니 종래의 protocol이 느린방식이라 blowfish방식으로 바꾸면 좀 나아진다고해서
바꿔봤지만 체감성능은 차이가 없군요 (다시 자료를 찾아 읽어보니 특정프로그램, vmware나 gnuplot등, 에서만 성능향상이 있다고하네요)
뭐 원래 특정 프로그램은 gui환경에서 사용하려고 한것이 아니고 호기심으로 시작한 것이라 지금 당장
띄어본 프로그램은 firefox랑 opera같은 브라우저랑 emacs밖에 없지만 실사용 불가능한 속도네요.

서버가 다른나라에 있는걸 감안한다고할지라도 제 생각엔 실사용엔 좀 무리가 있을듯 하군요.
혹시 좀 더 빠르게 사용할수 있는 방법이 없을까요?
