[팁] 레드헷 이번 커널 2.4.18-26.8.0 패닉 뜰 때

up2date에 있길래 언제나 그렇듯이 있는대로 다 체크해서 업데이트하고 새로운 커널(2.4.18-26.8.0)로 재부팅 했더니 init못찾겠다면서 커널패닉이 나더군요.

lilo.conf를 보니 바로 전 버전 커널에는 옵션으로 root의 위치를 넘겨주는데 이번거에는 그런게 없어서 아래와 같이 추가해주고 부팅을 했습니다.

append="hdb=ide-scsi root=LABEL=/"

근데 이번에는 루트파일시스템을 못찾더군요. checking root filesystem []OK]하는 부분에서 OK가 안뜹니다.
fstab에는 아래와 같이 돼있습니다만.
LABEL=/ / ext3 defaults 1 1

그래서 lilo.conf에 /의 위치를 정확히 써주니 그때서야 되는군요.
append="hdb=ide-scsi root=/dev/hda4"

바로전 커널은 root=LABEL=/ 돼있어도 잘되는데 이번버전커널은 왜 그러는지 모르겠습니다.

제가 리눅스 3개를 깔아둬서 그런거 같기도 합니다만... 제가 해놓고도 말이 안되는.....^^;

왜일까요?

딴지 걸기는 아니고...

Compaq Proliant 7xxx 시리즈 서버와 그 이하 서버 (SMP),

그리고 일반 인텔 셀러론 1.7Ghz PC...

모두 다 RedHat 8.0 Kernel 2.4.18-26.8.0입니다.

up2date로 설치했고요. 부팅할 때 잘 되길래 예전 커널을 모두

지웠습니다. ㅡ_-);

별 문제 없던데요...

label이 바뀐게 아닐까 생각됩니다. e2label을 이용하면 레이블을 보거나 지울 수 있습니다.
