JAVA, 패키지명이 왜 도메인 이름을 닮아있죠?

JAVA와 같은 언어에서 왜 패키지명을 도메인 네임을
거꾸로 쓴것과 같은 닮아있는 이름을 사용하는것인가요?

뭔가 이유가 있을꺼 같은데;
잘 몰라서 하는 말이겠지만 혹시 원격에 있는 패키지 사용을 가정하고 그런 이름을 지은것인가요?

윗분 답변처럼, 도메인이 고유하기 때문에
중복걱정 없이 네임스페이스를 구성하기 적합한 때문이겠죠
