하드디스크 시리얼이 변경 가능한가요?

리눅스 혹은 VMware상의 리눅스, 윈도우등의 OS상에서 HDD 시리얼이 변경되는지 궁금해서 질문드려요.
예전에 윈도우에서는 MAC이 변경되는 경우가 있던데, 리눅스나 윈도우 등에서 HDD 시리얼도 변경 가능한가요??

mac은 보통 다 프로그래머블 하구요. hdd 시리얼은 정상적인 방법으론 바꿀 수 없습니다.

우선 몇개는 volume id (filesystem id) 바꾸는 건데 이건 그냥 파일시스템 메타데이타를 바꾸는 거구요. 하드웨어 시리얼을 spoof 한다는 프로그램은 윈도우에서 IDENTIFY 결과값 줄 때 값을 바꿔서 돌려보내는 거 같아요. 하여간 ATA spec상엔 hardware serial을 바꿀 수 있는 방법은 없습니다. 펌웨어 업데이트나 vendor specific 명령 써서 할 수 있을 가능성이 높긴 하지만 그런건 벤더마다 모델마다 다른거구요.
