gettext 설치에 관하여 문의드립니다.

GNU계열의 한 소프트웨어를 한국어로 번역하고자 얼마 전에 개발자에게 직접 메일을 보냈습니다.

파일을 하나 받았는데...

.pot 파일입니다.

제가 가전 Tinn-R이라는 편집기로 열어보니

msgid "KMeans Clustering"
msgstr "" ---> 이곳에 번역문을 넣으면 될 것 같네요...

msgid "Variables (pick one or more)"
msgstr ""

~ 아래로 죽 800 여개가 나옵니다 ~

와 같은 식으로 메뉴 내에 있는 800여 개의 메뉴 문장들이 좍 나옵니다.

그런데 개발자는 gettext를 쓰면 된다고 하는데

gettext를 다운로드 받아봤지만 gettext-0.17.tar.gz, gettext-0.17.tar.gz.sig라는

두개의 파일일 뿐 빵집으로 풀어도 인스톨을 할 수가 없네요...

인터넷에 다시 검색해보니 PHP 어쩌구 저쩌구 하면서 설명이 장황한데 쉽지가 않네요...

gettext도 일종의 편집기가 아닌가 생각됩니다.

쉽게 설치할 수 있는 것인지요?

두번 째 질문은 gettext의 설치가 너무 어려울 경우를 대비한 질문입니다.

gettext를 포기한다면...

현재 제가 가지고 있는 Tinn-R 이라는 편집기로도 내용이 열립니다.

그냥 거기다가 수정해서 다시 보내는 겁니다.

이래도 될까요?

그리고 Tinn-R에서는 중간중간이 좀 깨져보입니다. 아래처럼 %같은 거 말입니다. 거의 대부분은 괜찮지만...

msgid "Delete %s?\nPlease confirm."
msgstr ""

---> gettext로는 안깨질까요???

gettext는 편집 툴이 아니예요.

그런 상황이라면 poedit로 편집하세요.

작성한 파일을 확장자가 mo나 po 또는 받으신 pot가 무리로 있는 폴더에 복사합니다
그기가서 # msgfmt -o korea.mo korea.pot 하시면 됩니다.
그럼 프로그램의 언어 선택 메뉴에서 한글이 나타날 겁니다

제가 보기에는 "Delete %s?\nPlease confirm."의 %s는 깨진 게 아니라

치환용 기호라고 생각합니다.

%s가 "그대는어찌그리도아름다운거요.odt"라면

"Delete 그대는어찌그리도아름다운거요.odt?\nPlease confirm."이 되는 거지요.
