원하는 문자열을 포함하고 있는 pdf 파일 찾기 가능?

원하는 문자를 포함하는 한글 파일은 윈도우 커맨더(토탈 커맨더)에서 찾을 수가 있는데요(문자열 검색 기능으로),
pdf는 안되더라구요. 혹시 pdf내의 문자열을 파일 찾기 옵션으로 선택해서 찾아낼 수 있을까요?

전 grep을 이용하는데요.
pdf를 binary file로 간주하고 searching하는 거라
단순히 string이 해당 file에 있는 지만 나옵니다.
원하시는 것인 지 모르겠네요...

제가 하려고 하는 바인데요,

그런데, grep으로 바이너리 형태로된 파일 내의 텍스트를 읽어낼 수 있나요.

간단한 테스트(grep -i myname address_book.pdf)에서 검색을 못하던데요.

grep -a myname address_book.pdf
바이너리도 검색할수 있습니다.

그냥 찾기만 하는 거라면 strings 명령을 같이 쓰면
조금 더 잘 찾아주지 않을까 싶기는 합니다. ;;
뭐 pdf 나름일것 같기는 한데요. -_-;
Plain text로 저장되는 부분에선 틀림없이 찾아질 듯 한데요.

보관되어 있는 PDF종류가 많다면, desktop 검색엔진류(google Desktop, naver ???)등을 사용하는것도 편합니다. :)
아니면,,pdf를 텍스트로 변환해서(이거 되던가?) grep하시는건?

google desktop..제가 찾던 기능입니다.
그동안 썼었는데 한동안 지워버렸더니 잊고 살았었습니다. ㅎㅎ

ps2ascii를 써서 text로 변환후 grep
