redhat 9 리눅스 설치시 fatal error

자꾸 패키지 설치 하려 할때.. 에러가 나서 설치가 안됩니다.
하드를 로우포맷하고 다시 설치해도 같은 에러가 나는데요.
이런 경우 있습니까? 다른 하드웨어에 영향을 받나요?

그냥 재부팅 되죠.

하드웨어 :

인텔 펜티엄 3 600MHz
IBM 40 기가 디스크

참고로 이 하드와 이컴에 예전에 TEXT 모드로 리눅스 설치됬었습니다.
그래서 하드 문제인 줄만 알았는데요

이전에 텍스트 모드로 설치한 리눅스와 동일한
리눅스CD로 설치하시다 그런건가요?

40기가 하드라면 용량문제에 걸릴일은 없을터이니
설치하실 때 사용하신 그 CD의 Media Check를
해보시는게 어떨까합니다.

옵션이 지금 생각이 안나는데..
RedHat9 처음 설치시 boot: 프롬프트에서

F3또는 F4키를 눌러보면 Media Check를
강제적으로 하게 하는 옵션이 있습니다.

boot: linux 옵션

식으로 실행해 주시면 됩니다.

즉, 설치 미디어의 불량일 수 있습니다.

post gress db를 제외한 풀 인스톨을 하구요
제온 2.4 듀얼 하이퍼 쓰래딩으로 4CPU로 인식합니다.
미디어 체크를 해봤는데 이상이 없는데
커널 설치 하는 부분에서 에러가 나네요..
문론 smp모듈도 설치 했구요...왜 이럴까요?? ㅠㅠ
택스트 모드로 설치해도 그렇고
미러사이트에서 엄청난 시간을 걸려가며 ftp로인스톨 해봤는데도 그러네요.

REDHAT 9 가 문제 있는건지 아니면 정말 제 하드웨어가 문제가 있는건지..ㅠㅠ
