간단한건데
hosts 파일이 있는 이유가 뭔가요?
매번 DNS 서버에 접속하면 효율적이지 못해서인가요?

시스템 관리 권한이 있는데 DNS 관리 권한이 없거나, 또는 DNS 변경 없이 IP를 잠시 변경해 보고 싶을때, 과도한 DNS 호출 방지 등등의 목적으로 사용할 수 있습니다.

hosts 파일은 DNS 관련이라기 보다는 IP에 별칭을 부여하는 정도로 사용하는 것이 원래의 목적이 아닐까 싶습니다.
