[완료]5.7.0 Authentication required 라는 메시지와 함께 메일이 리턴됩니다.

메일을 보냈는데

다음과 같이 5.7.0 Authentication required 라는 메시지와 함께 메일이 리턴됩니다.

    (reason: 530 5.7.0 Authentication required)

... while talking to mx3.ust.hk.:

제가 다른 곳에 보낸 메일들은 제대로 가는 걸 보면 제 쪽에서는 별 문제가 없는 것 같습니다.

그런데, 메일을 받는 사람한테 물어보면 제가 보낸 메일 말고 다른 메일들은 잘 오는 것 같다고 합니다.

보내는 쪽 메일 서버와 받는 쪽 메일 서버 중에 어디가 문제인 걸까요?

mx3.ust.hk 메일 서버가 인증을 요구하고 있는 것은 맞습니다.

telnet mx3.ust.hk 25

그런데 해당 도메인의 mx 레코드를 보니 mx1 이나 mx2 로 가야하는게 맞네요.
일시적인 dns 쿼리 문제일 수도 있습니다.

고맙습니다.

며칠동안 고민했었는데, 말씀해주신 덕택에 제 DNS 서버가 문제가 있었다는 걸 알 수 있었습니다.

분명 해당 도메인의 mx 레코드를 보면 mx1이나 mx2로 가야 하는데...

제가 쓰는 DNS 서버는 엉뚱하게 나오는군요.

Small Business Server 2003의 DNS 서버가 거의 한달간 계속 저렇게 잘못된 정보를 리턴해주고 있었던 것 같습니다.

이놈의 Small Business Server는 무슨 마법사니 뭐니 해서 지 멋대로 설정을 하는 바람에...

DNS 서버 설정에도 제가 의도하지 않았던 설정이 되어 있었네요.

그걸 찾아서 바로 잡았습니다.
