ubuntu 8.04 배포버전을 사용하다 개발버전 8.10 alpa X 의 소스를 내려 받아 사용할수 있을까요 ?

우분투 8.10. 에서 쓸만한 소스 일부를
기존의 8.04 에서 업대이트 또는 install 해서 사용할수 있을가요 ?

network 메니져 가 너무 쓸만하던데 인스톨 해볼려니 gtk 라이브러리니 버젼이니 여러가지 문제가 걸리더군요.
혹시 여러분들중 특별한 방법은 따로 있을까요 ?

위의 분이 남겨 주신 방법은 8.10으로 모든 패키지를 업그레이드하는 것이고, 초보자에게는 어렵겠지만 8.10의 소스를 가져다가 직접 빌드할 수 있는 방법이 있습니다. dget을 사용하여 dsc 파일에서 소스를 가져오고, dpkg-source를 사용해서 소스 파일을 풀고, debuild를 사용해서 패키지를 만드시면 됩니다.

여기에서 섹션 3.1.14를 보십시오.

8.10의 NM은 버전업이 커서 8.04에서 소스 빌드가 될런지 모르겠지만, 보통은 다음의 방법처럼 소스 패키지를 가져다가 deb을 만듭니다.

우선, 저는 다음의 alias를 ~/.bashrc에 넣고 씁니다.

alias acl='apt-cache search'
alias acs='apt-cache show'
alias ags='apt-get source'
alias dbr='dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot'
alias dsx='dpkg-source -x'
alias fdc='fakeroot debian/rules clean'
alias rmf='rm -f *.changes *.dsc *.gz'
alias sai='sudo apt-get install'
alias sau='sudo apt-get update'
alias sag='sudo apt-get upgrade'
alias sdi='sudo dpkg -i'

/etc/apt/sources.list에 다음을 추가합니다. intrepid가 8.10의 코드명이고, 개발 버전은 미러를 안 쓰는 것이 시간을 약간 절약 할 수 있는 이기적인 팁입니다.

소스만 받아 풀어서 deb을 만드는 경우는 다음과 같이 합니다. screen 패키지를 예로 듭니다.

중간에 패치를 하거나 여러번 재빌드를 하는 경우는 다음처럼 합니다.

sau
ags screen
cd screen-4.0.3  (필요시 이 명령 이후 반복)

(패치 또는 debian 디렉토리 내 파일 수정)
dbr
cd ..
rmf
sdi screen*.deb

sources.list 파일에 deb-src 추가없이 한 두번 패키지의 dsc, orig.tar.gz, diff.gz 파일을 우분투나 데비안에서 다운받아 소스 패키지로 푸는 경우는 위의 ags screen 대신에 dsx screen*.dsc을 명령하면 됩니다. 설명 외의 것은 아무래도 debian 패키징 가이드를 보는 편이 가장 정확하고 빠른 방법입니다.
