모니터 해상도 설정에 대한 질문인데요...
리눅스 처음 사용하는 유저입니다..
데스크탑을 새로 장만해서 페도라7을 깔았는데요...
처음에는 그래픽카드 드라이버가 안잡혀서 고생을 했는데
이건 이리저리 돌아다니며 업데이트하고 다른거 인스톨하고 하면서
깔긴 깔았는데요....
그 이후에 해상도가 이상해서요..
윈XP랑 듀얼부팅을 하는데..
XP에서는 2560X1600 해상도가 잡혔거든요..
그런데....
페도라에서는 최대 해상도가 1280X800으로 뜨네요...ㅜㅜ
xorg.conf 어떻게 설정하라고 하는데...
리눅스를 처음 사용하다보니..
뭐가 뭔지 감도 못잡고 있는 실정입니다...ㅜㅜ
그래픽카드는 nvidia 8600GT쓰고요..
모니터는 유플 30인치(UP-M30W)를 사용하고 있습니다.
혹시 페도라7에서 2560X1600 해상도 사용하는 방법 알고 계신분들 좀 갈켜주세요...ㅜㅜ
윗 분들(?)이 빨리해내라고 닥달하셔서...-_-;; 죽겠습니다..;;

로그파일에 무슨 지원하지 않는다는 투로...머라머라하더니..
결국 자기가 처음에 잡았던 설정으로 시작해서 1280X800이 되더군요...ㅜㅜ
근데 윈도우에서는 2560X1600이 잡혀서 잘 사용하고 있다는....;;

정상적으로 된다면 xorg.conf에 별달리 해상도를 설정하지 않아도 그래픽 카드가 모니터로부터 해상 능력에 대한 정보를 받아서 알맞게 셋팅을 합니다.
OpenShake님 말씀대로 모니터 섹션에서 해상도 설정을 주석 처리하거나 지워버리고 자동으로 알아서 잡도록 시도하는 방법이 안통한다면 현재 Xorg 드라이버로 무엇을 사용하는지 알아보고 변경 가능한 경우 변경해서 다른 효과를 볼 수 있습니다.
Xorg에 기본 포함된 'nv' 드라이버를 사용중이신지 'nvidia' 독점 드라이버를 따로 깔으셨는지 궁금하군요. 이것을 바꿔줘서 올바르게 인식을 할 수도 있습니다. 저도 이런 경험을 했었습니다.
이도 저도 안되면 모니터의 상세 정보 - 이것은 모니터 뒷면 스티커나 설명서에 적혀 있습니다 - 를 직접 기록하고 적절한 해상도를 적어주는 방법이 있겠습니다. 보통 수직 수평 해상도만 제대로 적어주면 잘 작동 했던 것 같습니다.

그게.. nvidia 드라이버를 따로 깔아서 사용하고 있구요...
X window 상에서는 최대해상도가 시스템 해상도건 nvidia 해상도건 1280X800이 최대로 나오더군요...;;
마잇님 말씀대로도 해봤구요...ㅜㅜ
위에 말씀드린 '윗'분께서 전에 CRT 모니터 안잡혔을때 그렇게 하셔서 한번 잡았거든요...
그런데 이번에는 안통하네요...
무식하게 큰 30' LCD라서 그런건지....
아래서 시키는 대로 하는 입장에서.....답답하네요...ㅜㅜ

이런 것들이 문제가 있는 것 같긴 한데요.... 저도 잘 모르는 것들이라....
330.0 MHz가 최대 픽셀클락인데, 2560x1600 @ 60.00 Hz로 출력하기 위해선 348.16MHz의 픽셀클락이 필요하다. 이런 뜻 같긴한데, 해결 방법이 뭐가 있을지는 더 검색해 봐야겠네요..
일단 2560x1600 @ 60.00 Hz로 출력하려면, 수평주파수가 96kHz는 되야 합니다.
모니터 뒷면에는 어떻게 나와 있나요?
HorizSync 30.0 - 120.0
이 정도는 되야 할 것 같은데요. 윈도우즈에서는 어떻게 나오나요?

저는 우분투에서 비슷한 문제를 겪었었는데
레드햇에서도 동일한지는 모르겠네요.
1920*1200이 안잡혀서 고생할 적에 도움을 받았던 제 쓰레드 입니다.

mode validation이라고 해서 xorg.conf에 해상도를 기입해줘도 그게 유효한지 x 올릴 때 검사를 하는 모양입니다.
그 검사를 꺼주는 옵션인 것 같군요.
제 경험(우분투)으로는 수직 주파수를 틀리게 기입할 경우 해상도를 낮게 잡아서 띄우는 것이 아니라
x는 x대로 올라오되, 모니터 자체에서 osd로 지원되지 않는 비디오모드라고 뜹니다.
그리고 lcd모니터는 해상도와 관계없이 수직 주파수는 일정한 것으로 알고 있습니다.
어쨌든.. 부럽습니다. 30인치!!! ㅎㅎㅎ

근데 윈도우에서는 어떻게 알아봐요??
윈도에서는
윈도에서는 바탕화면에 우클릭하고 설정 들어가면 고급 탭(버튼?) 밑엔가 어딘가에 모니터 주파수가 있을겁니다.
지금 윈도상이 아니라 정확하게는 기억이..
거기 보면 수직 주파수만 나옵니다. 범위가 아니라 딱 몇 헤르츠로요.
X설정 하다 보면 거의 마지막에 모니터 주파수 설정할 때 advanced로 들어가면 수직, 수평 다 넣어야 되고 그것도 범위로 넣어야 되는데,
제조사 홈페이지에서 열심히 알아보고 정확하게 범위를 기입해 줘도 자꾸 못 올리더군요. (지원하지 않는 모드라고 모니터 자체 osd로 떠요)
advanced말고 그 위에 medium인가..로 들어가면 윈도에서처럼 범위가 아닌 일정 헤르츠로 입력할 수 있습니다.
저는 그렇게 해서 해결했었습니다.
하지만 역시.. 해상도를 스스로 낮게 잡는건 주파수 문제는 아닐거라고 생각되네요.
흐음....
결국 사람을 불러야 하는 지경까지 왔는데...
과연 리눅스 시스템을 잡아줄 사람이 있을지 그게 의문이네요....;;

자기들이 제품 만들었으니 뭐라고 설명이 있겠죠...
