Red hat 7.3에서 2개의 커널을 사용하는데 잘안되네요!

기존에 있던 kernel설치 버전은 2.4.18-3입니다.
여기로 부팅은 수월하게 되고 동작도 잘 됩니다.
이번에 제가 kenel버전 2.4.19를 설치하여 2개의 커널버젼을
사용하게 되었습니다.
그런데 2.4.19로 부팅시 modprobecan't locate module char mode
라는 메세지와 fs type ext3 not supports by kernel (Failed)
이 보이더군요..
그래서 그런지 시스템이 잘 동작되지 않는 것 같아요.
기존에 있던(2.4.18-3 안에) home 디렉토리의 내용들도 2.4.19에선
보여지지 않구요.. 자동으로 모듈이 안실려서 인터넷도 안되구요..
참고로 제 시스템은 grub부팅을 쓰고요, 화일 체계는 ext3입니다.
혹시 해결방안을 아시는 분 있으면 답변 주십시요.

kernel 2.4.19에서 config를 잡을때 ext3 file system을 선택해 주어야만
합니다. 새로 커널 소스를 풀었다면 ext3가 기본적으로 선택되어 있지
않기때문에 직접 선택해 주어야합니다.
config할때 File system에서 선택해주면 됩니다.
