[질문] IP Chain에서 외부로부터의 ping을 차단하는 설정

Wowlinux 7.1 Paran을 웍스케이션모드로 설치해서사용하고 있습니다.

설치된 IP Chain은 버전이 1.3.10입니다.

IP chain의 기본설정값을 모두 -F 옵션으로 소거하고 다음과 같이 다시
설정했습니다.

# ipchains -A input -d 211.231.229.26 -p ICMP -j DENY

모든 들어오는 패킷에 대한 규칙을 추가하는데(-A input),
종착지가 본 시스템이며 (-d 211.231.229.26)
프로토콜이 ICMP일 경우(-p ICMP)
거절하라(-j DENY)

실행하고 나서 내부망의 타시스템에서 리눅스로 ping을 해보니 ping이 여
전히 살아있습니다.

ping을 막으려는 것이 목적이구요.

죄송합니다만.... iptables 를 쓰심이 어떨련지..
ipchains 는 옛날껀데...
답변을 드릴려고.. 열심히 생각했는데.... 공부한지 하도 오래된 거라..
기억이 안나네요... 죄성 합니다.
