커널2.4.20 -8 에서 2.6.7로 업중.. 에러 입니다.

안녕하세요.

현재 레드헷 9버젼이구요..
커널업을 하기위해
module-init-tools-3.0 을 먼저 설치하였습니다.
그리고

# 커널다운로드(ftp.kernel.org) 및 /usr/src/로 이동
# bzip2 -d new_kernel.tar.bz2
# tar xvf new_kernel.tar
# ln -s new_kernel linux (새로운 커널을 linux로 링크)
# cd /usr/include
# mv asm asm.old
# mv linux linux.old
# ln -s /usr/src/linux/include/asm-i386 asm
# ln -s /usr/src/linux/include/asm-generic asm-generic
# ln -s /usr/src/linux/include/linux linux

# cd /usr/src/linux
# make mrproper
# make menuconfig

HOSTCC scripts/basic/fixdep

메뉴건피거 시작하자 마자 에러가 저렇게 나는군요.
알수가 없습니다.
아시는분 도움좀 주시면 정말 감사하겠습니다...

위 부분은 꼭 필요한 것 같아 보이지는 않는데요, 원상복귀시키시고 한번 해보시는 것은 어떨까요..?

에러 메시지를 제대로 보시려면 LANG=C make menuconfig등을 실행해보시거나 한글 출력 지원이 잘 되는 터미널에서 make menuconfig등을 해보시면 될 것 같습니다.
