lan card 설정중 error 발생

lan card 종류는 3com 제품이며,
제가 조치한 설정은
/etc/sysconfig/network에서

networking=yes
hostname=''
gateway=....
gatewaydev=.. 설정을 했으며,

/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 에서

ipaddr=....
broadcast=...
network=....
netmask=...
device=..
를 설정후 "/etc/rc.d/init.d/network restart"를
실행하면

------------------------------------------------------[yes]
------------------------------------------------------[yes]
bring up interface lo ------------------------------[yes]
bring up interface eth0 Delaying eth0 initialization--[Fail]"
이란 메시지가 남니다.

무었이 잘못 되었는지 조언 부탁드립니다.

참고로 linux 6.2를 설치중 에 발생한 에러 입니다.
