부팅시 X윈도우 이상현상

안녕하세요.
작업도중 파폭이 안열리길래 평소와 같이 재부팅을 했습니다.
그런데 그다음부터 부팅이 이상해졌어요..ㅜ.ㅜ
평소와 같이 xwindow 로그인 창이 뜨길 기다리는데 갑자기
처음 보는 메시지가 뜨네요.

There already appears to be an X server running on display :0..
should another display number by tried? Answering no will cause
GDM to attempt starting the server on :0 again. 이런식으로 뜨고
이 다음에 ctrl+alt+펑션키를 이용하여 콘솔을 선택할 수 있다 뭐 이렇게 뜨네요.
X 서버가 디스플레이 0에서 이미 사용중이라는 말같은데 모니터도 하나밖에 없는데
이게 뭔소린지...;; 뭐 그래서 yes를 누르게 되면 마우스 포인터만 뜨면서 무한대기상태에
들어갑니다. 그리고 no를 하면 x로그인 창이 뜨는데 이게 또 root는 로긴할 수 없다고
하고 그래서 터미널 모드로 들어가서 다른 계정 하나 만들어서 했더니 로그인되는 척하더니
또 로그인창을 띄우고 그러다 무한대기상태로 가네요...ㅜㅜ
위의 영어 정보창이 떴을 때 컨트롤 알트 에프7을 이용해서 해도 역시 로그인창만 뜨고 동작불능
이네요...이 상황을 어찌해야할지.... 도와주세요~~
