MP3 Player를 제작하고 싶은데 추천해주고 싶은 Library를 알고 싶습니다.

안녕하세요 MP3 Player를 한번 만들어보고 싶어서요
원하는 기능으로는
. 현재 플레이되는 시간 및 총 시간
. 일정 부분 짤라서 파일로 만들기
. 현재 음에 대한 상태
( 플레이되면 각 Hz마다 어떤 상태인가 나오는 그런거 있자나요.
이름이 잘 생각이 나지가 않네요 ㅡㅡ')

대충 이정도를 알고 싶은데, 관련 라이브러리나 어떤 조언이라도 괜찮습니다.
고수님들 답변 부탁드립니다.

리눅스 환경에서 멀티미디어 관련해서

mplayer
xine
gstreamer

이 세가지가 굵직한 프로젝트로 알고 있습니다.

mplayer, xine의 경우는 해당 플레이어도 있지만 라이브러리야 불러다 쓸 수 있을것 같습니다. mplayer, xine 모두 여러 프론트엔드가 존재 합니다. gstreamer는 전반적인 멀티미디어의 기능을 포괄하는 프레임웍으로 알고 있습니다. 대표적으로 totem, rhythmbox 등이 gstreamer를 이용한 재생기입니다. totem은 xine을 백엔드로 해서도 동작합니다. gstreamer의 g에서 약간 냄새가 나듯이 그놈 프로젝트의 공식적인 멀티미디어쪽 책임자? 역할을 맡고 있는듯 합니다. kde4에서는 kde도 gstreamer를 이용한다고 하는데 확실한 것은 아닙니다.
