To start mysqld at boot time you have to copy
support-files/mysql.server to the right place for your system
PLEASE REMEMBER TO SET A PASSWORD FOR THE MySQL root USER !
To do so, start the server, then issue the following commands:
./bin/mysqladmin -u root password 'new-password'
./bin/mysqladmin -u root -h localhost.localdomain password 'new-password'
See the manual for more instructions.
You can start the MySQL daemon with:
cd . ; ./bin/mysqld_safe &
You can test the MySQL daemon with mysql-test-run.pl
cd mysql-test ; perl mysql-test-run.pl

Starting the mysqld server. You can test that it is up and running
with the command:

./configure 도 안돼요.
mysql 은 그냥 rpm이나
mysql 은 그냥 rpm이나 패키지관리툴로 설치하는게 장땡입니다.
상황을 보니 그냥 make

cd . ; ./bin/mysqld_safe
cd . ; ./bin/mysqld_safe &
이걸 먼저 해보세요.
바이너리로 설치했을 경우엔 configure하지 않아도 됩니다.
만약 실행이 안되시면 시스템에 mysql유저를 추가하시고 mysql관련 파일을 chown mysql:mysql 바꿔주세요.
우선..
일단 마음을 가라앉히고. 밖에서 담배나 커피 하시고 들어오신후 천천히 화면울 보세요 ^^
그리고 에러로그를 한번 보신후에... 해답이 나올겁니다.
보통 안될경우에는 초기 DB인스톨을 안될때, 권한 문제가 있을때, 기타 등등^^
