mplayer 동영상 오버레이 여부 확인법?

ubuntu edgy 에서 mplayer를 사용하고 있습니다.
그런데 동영상이 오버레이에서 돌고 있는건지 아닌지 확인을 어떻게 할수 있나요?
비디오카드가 그리 좋은놈이 아니라서 윈도우즈에서도 오버레이에서 실행되지 않으면 동영상이 좀 버벅였거든요.
확인할 수 있는 방법을 알려주세요.

그리고 듀얼 모니터 사용시 nvidia의 twinview 를 써서 오버레이 화면을 한쪽 모니터에 꽉 채워 뿌려주는 옵션이 없더군요.
다른 듀얼 모니터 프로그램에서 혹시 이런 기능을 하는 놈이 있는지 아시면 부탁드리겠습니다.
