Ubuntu Edgy에서 SCIM 이 안됩니다.

ubuntu 를 설치했는데, scim 이 작동을 안합니다.
영문으로 설치를 했구요, 나중에 snapsys 에서 관련 패키지를 설치해 줬는데 트레이에는 아이콘이 뜨는데
한/영 전환을 해도 아무 변화가 없고, 트레이의 아이콘을 클릭해봐도 아무런 메뉴가 뜨지 않는군요.
이전 버전 (dapper) 의 ubuntu 에서는 별 문제없이 설치가 되었었고 트레이의 아이콘을 클릭하면 마우스로 입력기를 선택할 수 있었습니다...
이 상태에서 한글 모드로 language 를 전환해 봤는데 역시 안됩니다.

그런데, 혹시나 싶어 한글 상태로 설치를 했더니 scim 이 잘 작동하는군요.
그냥 이걸로 다시 셋업하고 쓰는게 시간을 아끼는 길이다 싶어서 이 상태에서 language 를 영문으로 다시 바꾸었더니 역시 작동을 안합니다.
어떤 문제인지 전혀 감을 못잡겠습니다 -_-;;

지난주에 Kubuntu Edgy 에서 삽질을 좀 했는데 우분투랑 같을 지 모르겠군요...
설치시 영문으로 설치하면 한글 locale (ko_KR.UTF-8)이 설치가 안 되더군요.

한글로 다시 세팅하셨으니 아래와 같이만 하면 될 것 같은데...
scim 자세한 설정은 https://wiki.ubuntu.com/InputMethods/SCIM/Setup 여기 참고해 보세요..

mkdir ~/.xinput.d
ln -s /etc/X11/xinit/xinput.d/scim-hangul ~/.xinput.d/default

쿠분투에서 설정한 과정은 http://rinapc.com/40 여기 정리해 뒀는데 제 위주로 적어둔 거라... ^^

해결했습니다. 해당로케일에 scim을 등록해주어야 하는군요.
im-switch -z en_US -s scim
라는 명령어로 가능하네요...
