[질문] Kernel compile 후 부팅 시 kernel panic 문제 (module version문제

kernel compile 경험이 많지 않아서...

redhat 9.0을 사용하고 있고, kernel이 2.4.20-8 버전이네요.

기존에 같은 버전이 깔려 있는데, synce 개발자 버전을 깔기 위해서 보니, kernel compile을 해야 하는 일이 생겨서 kernel compile을 했습니다.

실제로 compile까지는 무리없이 진행되었고요..
make bzImage
make modules
make modules_install

make modules_install을 실행하니 /lib/modules/2.4.20-8custom 이라는 디렉토리를 만들어서 설치하더군요..

그러고 나서 /boot/에 bzImage 등등을 설치하고 grub의 menelist 편집까지 하고 재부팅을 시도했습니다.

그러니 재부팅 도중에 ext3.o가 이상하다고 에러를 내더군요.
구체적인 내용은 kernel은 2.4.20-8custom 버전으로 compile됐는데, ext3.0는 2.4.20-8 버전으로 컴파일되어 있다 네요..

/lib/modules에 가보니 2.4.20-8 과 2.4.20-8custom이라는 두 디렉토리가 있습니다.
아마 2.4.20-8은 원래 module들인것 같고, 2.4.20-8custom 에 있는 module을 로딩시켜야 할 것 같은데, 어딜 수정해야 하는지 모르겠네요..

게시판에서 찾아보려고 했는데 검색어가 잘못 됐는지 원하는 답을 못 찾겠군요..
