October 13, 2005, 7:11 PMMozilla's Firefox developers aren't the only open source programmers migrating to the GooglePlex. Gaim lead Sean Egan announced Wednesday that he had taken a position at the search giant to help build Google Talk. Egan's current project is to make other IM clients compatible with Google's voice calling feature.
Egan will continue his work on Gaim, which is currently nearing its 2.0 release. Voice compatibility with Google Talk and support for the webcam features in MSN Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger are on the list of new features. "We're looking to feature freeze at the end of this month and release a month or so later, so be sure to get on our cases and make sure we get it finished," Egan wrote on the Gaim project site.

로봇이나 호환 메신저를 만들고 싶어도,
움찔거리게 되더군요.
구글메신저가 무거우면 가벼운 zabber클라이언트를 써도 된다는 대안이^^ㅋ.
단, 구글메신저가 zabber와의 호환성을 계속 유지한다는 가정입니다만.

Gaim 2.0이 상당히 기대되는군요. 멀리 있는 동생과 skype로 대화를 나누고는 하지만 늘 뭔가 부족하다고 생각했는데, 2.0이 발표되면 당장 캠부터 사야겠는데요?
