데비안에서 화려한 X를 보기 위한 PC사양은?

cel 466 우분투 유저입니다.
데비안일때는 이것저것 배운다고 만지작거렸는데
우분투로 바뀌고 나서는 거의 쓰지를 않습니다.

예전 제 서명처럼 다시 데비안으로 돌아가려하는데
데비안에서 화려한 X를 쓰기위한 CPU사양은 얼마면 될까요?

cel466, 약380ram, tnt2 vga, 80G HDD(씨익~ 얼마전 3기가짜리를 교체해줬죠.) 정도입니다.

전엔 데비안 사지에 xfce4를 썼었는데
그놈을 써볼까 하기도 합니다.
아직 리눅스에 익숙하지 않아서 자료가 많은쪽이 좋을것같아서요.

데비안+그놈조합으로 화려한 X를 볼려면 cpu업글이 필요한가요?
필요하다면 어느정도선이 좋을까요?
되도록이면 CPU만 교체하려고 합니다.
(중고 키보드 팔아서 ㅡ.ㅡ; 마련해보려고요.)

메모리가 넉넉하므로 GNOME 돌리기에도 문제 없을 것 같습니다. :-)
다만 GNOME 을 올린다면 힘든 작업은 무리일지도 모릅니다.
