xfce 설치 다시 질문드립니다..

ubuntu 5.04 hoary 버전 사용자입니다.

해상도 문제로 한창 삽질중입니다.

xfce 환경에서 혹시나 해결될까 해서 설치하려고 합니다.

xfce.org에서 xfce4-4.2.1.1-installer.bin 를 다운받았습니다.

glib2-2.4.4-1.i386.rpm, gtk2-xfce-engine-4.2.1-installer.bin 도 다운받았구요..

그런데 glib2-2.4.4-1.i386.rpm을 설치하려고 하면...

$ rpm -Uvh glib2-2.4.4-1.i386.rpm
rpm: To install rpm packages on Debian systems, use alien. See README.Debian.오류: db3(을)를 이용하여 Packages 인덱스를 열 수 없습니다 - 그런 파일이나 디 렉토리가 없음 (2)
오류: /var/lib/rpm 안의 패키지 데이터베이스를 열 수 없습니다

무시하고 gtk-xfce-engine-2.2.1-1.src.rpm를 설치시도..

$ sh gtk2-xfce-engine-4.2.1-installer.bin
Verifying file integrity... OK.
Extracting the installer... OK.
Checking for usable C compiler... gcc
Checking for usable C++ compiler... g++
Checking for GNU make... make
Checking for package config tool... pkg-config

여기서 GLib 때문에 문제가 생긴거 같구요...(역시 무시하면 안되는군요...)

xfce4-4.2.1.1-installer.bin 설치시도!!

$ sh xfce4-4.2.1.1-installer.bin

역시 여기도 GLib가 걸리는거 같은데요...

무조건 GLib을 설치를 해야 되는것인가요?

ubuntu 에서 rpm 을 설치하고 싶으시다면

rpm --initdb 를 한 번 쌔워주시는 게 좋습니다.

그러면 더이상 db3 관련 에러는 나지 않겠지요.

그 이후에 필요한 rpm 을 설치해 보세요.

추신: 근데 왜 ubuntu에서 rpm을 설치하나오? (얼리 어댑터이십니까?)
ubuntu 저장고에 해당 버젼의 xfce가 없는 건가요?
