커널 컴파일 및 커널패닉 질문입니다.

Amd 바톤 2500+ 시피유에
래드햇9 를 사용하고 있습니다.

처음 래드햇을 설치했을때 2.4.20-8 버전 커널이었구요.
나중에 2.4.20-31.9 버전 rpm패키지를 다운받아서 설치했고..

최근에 2.6.11.8 버전을 다운받아서 컴파일을 했습니다.
제가 실행했던 과정을 말씀드리면.

make mrproper
make menuconfig (2.4.20-31.9 버전에서 사용했던 콘픽 파일을 복사했다가 콘픽메뉴에서 불러와서 다시 저장했습니다.)
make dep (이걸 실행하니 "지금은 필요하지 않습니다." 이런 메시지가 나왔구요. 그냥 넘어갔습니다.)
make bzImage
make modules
make modules_install
make install

그리고나서 grub.conf 파일을 보니 새 커널도 등록 되었습니다.

재부팅.....

멀티부팅하는데서 2.6.11.8 버전 골라서 죽죽 실행이 되다가
INIT: 나오는 부분에서 커널 패닉이 났습니다.
커널 패닉 메세지는
Kernel panic - not syncing : No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel.
이런 메세지입니다.

윈도우만 사용하던 초보자인데요. 꼭 해결해보고 싶습니다.
