프록시 사용

저희 회사에서는 프록시를 사용하여 인터넷을 연결하게됩니다.
근데 리눅스 같은 경우는 어떻게 해야 하는지요.
나와 똑같은 환경에서 리눅스를 깔고 쓰는 사람이 있는데..
네비게이터 도구에서 프록시를 설정만하고..프록시 설치를 하지 않았는데도
사용을 하더라구요..
근데 저는 똑같이 했는데..되지 않더군요..
저는 redhat 7.1을 깔아서 쓰고 있습니다.
