ImageMagicK로 이미지 잘라내는 방법

ImageMagicK에 들어있는 convert를 이용해서 이미지를 잘라내서 썸네일을 잘 만들어 사용하고 있습니다.
그런데
convert -resize 가로크기x세로크기
의 방법으로 썸네일을 만들어 내면 가로세로비율에 맞추어서 잘리게 됩니다.
예를 들면 100x100이라고 크기를 줘도 원본 이미지의 가로세로폭이 2:1의 비율이었다면 결과적으로 만들어지는 이미지는 100x50의 크기가 됩니다.
그래서 구상한 것이 일단 200x100이미지를 만들어 내고
그 이후에 상단에서 50픽셀 하단에서 50픽셀을 잘라내서 최종적으로 100x100 이미지를 만들어 내려고 합니다.

크기를 줄이는 법도 알고 이미지의 중간을 잘라내는 방법도 알고 있는데
위처럼 이미지의 비율에 맞추어서 정확한 크기로 만들어 내려면 따로 프로그래밍 작업을 해야할까요?
그 작업이 꽤 부담스러워서 그냥 명령의 조합으로 만들어 낼수 있으면 합니다만 너무 욕심이 과한 것일까요?
