Vim + Cscope 에서 Ctrl-Space, Ctrl-@ ?

cscope_maps.vim 파일에 있는 주석을 보면

" Using 'CTRL-spacebar' (intepreted as CTRL-@ by vim) then a search type
" makes the vim window split horizontally, with search result displayed in
" the new window.

이라고 되어 있습니다.

그런데 제 가 쓰는 환경에서는 도통 Ctrl-space 가 안먹습니다. 직접 Ctrl-@ 을 쳐야 동작합니다. 어떤 문제인가요? 구글링을 해봐도 잘 모르겠더군요. 의외로 간단한 문제일 것 같은데 ...
