smpeg에 관한질문

SDL기반의 플레이어인 smpeg으로 VOD클라이언트를 개발하고있습니다.
RS232로 값을 입력받아.. 그값을 버퍼에넣어 화면에 뿌리고있습니다.
헌데..
화면의 동영상이 계속적으로 프레임이 바뀌기때문에.. 그화면위에 뿌려진
문자열도
계속 깜박거리더군요..
쉽게 말하면.. 노래방에 가면.. 화면에는 이런저런 야시꾸리한 동영상이
플레이되고
있고.. 화면맨위에.. 신청곡 예약한값들이 표시되잖아요..
깜박거리는현상없이..

어떻게 해야할지 난감합니다... 이런저런 소스도 참조해봤지만..
워낙허접이다보니..흠.-,.-;

참고로 플레이영상은 X윈도우가 아닌 ... SDL기반에서.. 실행이됩니다.
혹, SDL기반에서도 자막과 같은 기능을 지원하는지요..
X윈도우에서는 자막처리를 할수있는 기반이 되지만..
SDL기반에서는 그부분에 관련된 자료들이없더군요..
만약에 있다면.. 그 소스부분을 참조하면 쉽게 풀릴것도 같은데..
