backup 관련 질문 입니다.

안녕하세요?

윤영원 이라고 합니다.

다름이 아니라 저희 회사는 idc에 있는 서버 몇대를 매일 backup합니다.

우선 회사의 backup서버로 새벽마다 backup하고나서 tape 디바이스로 같이 backup합니다.

근데 이것들(backup file)의 용량이 하루가 다르게 늘어나서 tape 한장에는 못들어 가더군요....

tar로 감고 있는데 (mt -f /dev/nst0 rewind --> tar cvf /dev/st0 /home/backup) 옵션중에 좀 꽉꽉 밀어 넣는 옵션이 있는지 궁금하고 그것이 안될때 디바이스가 다 체워지면 다음 tape으로 넘어가는 옵션이 있는지 궁금합니다.

아직 모르는 것이 많은 초보 입니다.

좋은 조언 부탁드립니다.

백업은 잘 모르지만
cvf 에 z나 j를 추가하시면.. 압축이 되는데 그걸론 안되나요?
czvf(gzip)나 cjvf(bzip2)

압축은 되지만 tape 디바이스가 꽉 차서 문제입니당....
