via82cxxx_audio 19168 2
uart401 6144 0 [via82cxxx_audio]
ac97_codec 12096 0 [via82cxxx_audio]
sound 55692 0 [via82cxxx_audio uart401]
soundcore 3844 4 [via82cxxx_audio sound]
이렇게 오렸구여...
듀얼 866 입니다... 정상적인 플레이 음질을 들을수 없는건가요
커널 컴파일시.....
Enhanced Real Time Clock Support
요거 체크했습니다...
Forums:

I have a problem when playing back sound through my onboard SiS7012 using the 2.4.20 integrated kernel driver. When i use the console program mp3blaster or the audio editor audacity, the sound gets played back too fast and with too high a pitch. The strange thing is when I use xmms to playback mp3/ogg/mod, the sound is perfectly normal!
I did search the web for this issue and found posts about similar problems where the solution involved specifying the chip's clock timing to the driver but unfortunately those were about different sound cards/chips and I don't want to do anything adventurous without knowing what I'm doing.
Does anyone have any suggestion on this please?
Good bye!
finegan Yeah, the i810_audio driver that's part of the regular kernel set that covers the sis7012 seems to only support 48Khz and two channels, its the absolute barebones of functionality. Maybe Alsa does it better, but I doubt it... Its still like that in 2.4.22 and 2.6.0-test2
Cheers,
Finegan
gundelgauk Thanks for your reply, i read similar info as well... I already bite myself (not literally ;)) for throwing away that ol' trusty sb16 as I thought I wouldn't need it anymore. Why is it so cruelly true when they say "never change a running system"?
Anyway, is there a way to change that behavior of playing sound too fast - maybe by a parameter to the driver or something? Any info is appreciated! :D
finegan I wish, no... I've got this chip in my work machine so it hardly ever gets to play sound, and when it does its through xmms. I compiled alsa once for kicks... go figure my work machine is always running -pre and -ac and -rc kernels because I'm bored a lot. Its a codec issue, there's no way around it as far as I can tell. The codec for the card has just been minimally hacked out, which is pretty typical for SIS gear, they're cagey about handing out docs. I would keep checking the changelogs for noise about i810_audio and ac97 support for more channels and rates from the sis7012, but since alsa is going to become the kernel standard with 2.6.x, I would check out alsa first.
Cheers,
Finegan
gundelgauk Thanks again, finegan, for your reply!
I understand, guess I'll have to find another solution for my audio editing then. It's a pity as this is about the only thing now that would keep me from completely banning win32 from my HDD. And how I would love to do that! :D
Anyways, thanks for clarifying this for me!
Good bye!
