ftp 접속이 안되고 530에러가나오는데...

전 리눅스 서버와 윈도 98(사설아이피)을 아이피 마스커레이드시켜 사용하고 있습니다.

윈98에선 서버로 텔넷은 되는데 ftp 접속 시도를 하면 "530 Must perform authentication before identifying USER"라고 나오면서 접속이 안되내요.

왜그럴까요...정말 답답합니다...몇일동안 이것저것 해봤지만 안되내요..

지금은 wu-ftp를 사용하고 있습니다...

아시는분 꼭 답변좀 부탁드립니다.
