아트메가에서 외부메모리를 사용하여 값을 읽어오는데..

안녕하세요. 아트메가 사용 중에 질문이 생겨 질문합니다.

아트메가에서 외부메모리를 연결하여 사용하고 있습니다.
C포트는 상위주소, A포트는 하위주소, 데이터를 사용하는 핀입니다.
아트메가에서 외부메모리로 데이터를 출력하기 위해서 상위주소와 하위주소를 먼저 출력하고, 그 후 데이터를 출력하여 확인하였을 때 제대로 동작하는 것을 알 수 있었습니다.
그래서 이번에는 외부메모리에서 아트메가로 데이터를 읽어오게 하고 싶은데
(1) 주소를 출력해주고 데이터를 받아와야 하는 건가요?
(2) 주소를 읽어오고 데이터를 받아와야 하는 건가요?
현재 저는 주소가 필요 없다 생각 들어 변수 a에 A포트 값의 데이터를 받아와 저장하고 읽어보려 하였는데 아무런 값이 출력되지 않습니다...
