레일즈 애플리케이션 트래픽 초과, 어떻게 대응해야할까요?

호스팅 업체에서 트래픽 초과 경고가 날아왔습니다. 애들 공부하기 위해 만들어 놓은 웹 사이트인데 방학 중에 트래픽 초과가 발생하리라고는 생각 못했거든요. 어쨌든 MRTG와 레일즈 로그를 비교 분석하던 중에 트래픽이 심했던 시간대에 이런 로그들을 확인할 수 있었습니다.

rails 애플리케이션을 대상으로 php 질의를 무작위로 뿌려대는 것을 보니 정상적인 트래픽 같지는 않군요. 게다가 whois에서 조회해보니 이런 트래픽이 중국, 싱가폴, 나라를 가리지 않고 오고 있었습니다.(우리 애들이 방학 중에 중국, 싱가폴가서 공부하는 것 같지는 않구요.ㅡㅡ;;)

제 서버를 대상으로 하는 공격까지는 아니겠지만 웹 호스팅을 사용하고 계시는 분들이라면 이런 쓰레기 트래픽은 피할 수 없으리라 생각합니다. 저는 가뜩이나 저렴한 상품을 이용하고 있어서 1일 허용 트래픽이 간당간당한데... 참 난감하네요. 어떻게 하면 문제를 해결할 수 있을까요?
